I represented a woman from Poland who suffered from a severe brain injury and physical disabilities after a car accident.
The local authority said she was not entitled to care because she was Polish. We argued that this would be a breach of her human rights.
THANKS TO LEGAL AID, we successfully challenged this decision and she continues to receive care in the UK.
“I represented a woman with autism and physical health issues. She was not receiving enough support from her local council to meet her social care needs. THANKS TO LEGAL AID, I secured the support she needs to do voluntary work and live a happy and fulfilling life.”
“I represented two homeless people who regularly used a soup kitchen. The local council threatened to close the soup kitchen, which fed over 50 people every day. THANKS TO LEGAL AID, I was able to challenge this decision in court and the soup kitchen was saved.”
“Today I met a 17 year old boy eager to pursue further education. He had been told that upon turning 18 social services would stop supporting him with his studies. THANKS TO LEGAL AID, I was able to go to Court and argue that his support should continue”
